Another week

A normal week of work had now passed and easter is upon us. Have been working with slightly older kids this week, 14-16 year old and it has been fun but challenging at times. I do enjoy working with older kids more than with the younger ones, although both groups have their pro’s and con’s.

Next week there will be no work at all as the school is closed for easter holidays. So hopefully I will have time to catch up with some of my business projects and continue my quest to get all my stuff organised. And on thursday a dear old friend, Joanna Östman, is coming for a visit which will be really great.

Spend a lot of time thinking of business ventures and management and will start to share some good articles and ideas that I come across. The first one being this article about Richard Semler and his aproach to democratic management.

Over and out,

Taking chances

I’m a strong believer in chance, but that to benefit from things you have to take opportunity as they come along. Be that small or large things, like sitting on a committee or just going somewhere when the chance arrives. Most of the time there is no way to tell what will lead to something and what will just be a waste of time. But so many of the great things in my life has come along by just keeping a positive attitude and going along with various opportunities and the sum total of experience has always been amazing. So my dad called this morning telling me he was supposed to go to Gothenburg tomorrow but had to cancel and that his ticket was non-refundable and if I wanted to use it. So tomorrow morning I’m heading to Gothenburg for the day, just tried to get in touch with some friends but realise it is very short notice and not counting on meeting any of them. But hopefully someone will have time but at least I will buy one of the worlds best prawn sandwiches which in it self is almost worth the trip.It all comes back to what I wrote before, it is important to get on with things small and big and not just sit around planning as I easily do. Take chances and you never know where they will lead.Lots of love,Pär Boman

The mood of the sun

Today is a stunningly beautiful day here in Helsingborg, an just seeing the clearness of the sky while waking up immediately put me in a very good mood. I wonder if my mood was as easily changed if really good weather was more common here?

It has been a long week with many hours at work and not much else, but last weekend was really nice. My parents helped get my flat in a good state, things that I had never got around to. And on Sunday I went over to Copenhagen to meet up with Julie, Eli and Matias. Three friends from my Norway UWC days, Matias I met last summer, quite strange since it he only lives an hour and half away. Hadn’t met Eli since the time at the college, and Julie I have only met once since then. It was a great feeling seeing them all again and I hope that it won’t go as long until I see them again.

Keeping in touch where dear old friends is not always easy but losing them and dropping out of touch for too long is devastating. UWC friends are in a way easier since our shared experience was so intense, it is fairly easy to get back in touch again. Sometimes one must just take the proper time to stay in touch and try to meet up as often as possible.

Here is a great site with pictures from my old school, and it does really bring back memories.

Otherwise not much excitement going on, looking in to things to do, keeping in my mind that I should live in the present and not just make plans for the future. Hope you are all doing well.
Lots of love,
