getting my life back in order

After my troubles in London I went back home to regroup and finally things are starting to take shape. Although teaching is very enjoyable and the flexibility of temping is great I want to start something more stable fairly soon. I’m looking into various jobs beyond DFDS and Hurtigruten even if those two would be preferable right now.

So life is good even if quite uneventful but good. Plans are maybe not as exciting as Canada but more down to earth.

Working the rest of the week so at least I’m making some money.

applications

Last night I sent two applications to work on the seas, Hurtigruten and DFDS. Not working today so will have some time to review available jobs and companies further.

New decisions

After thinking about my financial situation and what I want to do next, I have decided to put the Canada project off for this year at least. Thinking of what to do next there are a couple of different ideas. Working for a company like Hurtigruten in Norway would be really cool, really want to get back into hospitality and working on a ship is optimal for me. Will apply for a job there and other places. Also going to look into other opportunities nearer Helsingborg probably in Denmark. There will probably be plenty of teaching work during the spring so there is no rush to leave just now but I can’t keep doing it for too long. Want to get some kind of use out of my degree and for that to happen I need to get some kind of supervisory or assistant management job eventually, so a return to the industry is much needed.

Canada Problems

Still waiting for the last paper from the UK, so haven’t actually sent my application yet. For all I know all this years visas could be gone by the time all papers are ready. Other problems ahed as-well, reviewed my complete financial situation yesterday and it is not looking too bright. To enter canada on a youth working visa you need roughly 16000 SEK, then add to that the cost of insurance, plane tickets and various other pre departure costs. So the outlook is quite bleak right now, maybe it is a good time to re-think the whole plan.

nothing new

Sorry for not writing for a while, there hasn’t been a lot going on lately. Been working and earning some money, hanged out with friends and read lots of books.

Just got a call from a research company doing a survey from the Scottish Funding Council and it put me in a good mood. Quite funny interviewer and we laughed a lot, survey probably took a lot longer than it is supposed to. But it put me in a really good mood. Need to get away from this place eventually, need some inspiration!

Canada project is not moving very fast, still waiting for documents from the UK to prove that I’m not a criminal. But life’s good, there is nothing to complain about but also nothing to cheer about. Think I’m going to call some old friends to keep the good mood up. Over and out.

It’s ten past five in the morning…

my break is officially over. And even though I’m happy that I got so many hours at work, and even though its great that I will open the school it still sucks to get up before five in the morning.

Anyways, New Years went great, food worked and I had a good time. Now it is a new year and time to get cracking on all my plans.

 Peace,

Pär
